How you doing? Welcome to my first blog of 2026.
First of all, I hope you’re loving my new column in The Sunday Post. I’m enjoying it immensely.
I want to tell you about something that’s happening on 13 February, because this energy is already building. Would you expect anything less from big-gun planet, Saturn?
This planet of responsibility, maturity, and long-term growth moves into the first and most dynamic and dramatic sign, Aries, so get ready for a global energy shift. When the builder planet moves into the sign of new beginnings, courage, and instinct, fused with a little Saturn magic, suddenly all the boring stuff like research and planning and structure all seems to fall into place.
Saturn in Aries is about building a life that is shaped by conviction rather than fear. Two feet on the ground but with a dream or two in tow.

Endings and origins

Saturn was happy in Pisces, the final sign of the Zodiac. This was the end of a cycle of dissolution and heightened emotional sensitivity. A time of release, you might’ve also felt like there was nothing new to say, in that exhausted way we all get. But now, we can all begin again.
Aries energy doesn’t tend to ruminate too long, so inactivity kicks in. Saturn energy reminds us that action doesn’t need to be reckless or spontaneous to have oomph, and earning confidence as you take each careful step along the way.

What does this mean for you?

Personal leadership, greater self-reliance, without talking yourself out of the equation. Choose paths that feel authentic rather than ones that feel approved, or where you’re seeking approval. Nobody is better than you or wiser about you.

Practice courage

Put ‘em up. Saturn in Aries brings courage into the frame, and not in a scattergun way. Saturn is about taking responsibility for yourself and not putting your courage in the hands of others. You don’t need anybody’s permission or to please the masses. Aries is the sign of celebrating a healthy ego.
If it matters to you, why not commit to it and move beyond inertia? Aries energy is fast-paced and fun, while Saturn prefers to play it cautiously, yet without extinguishing the flame – this is more about making ideas sustainable. Be long-term brave rather than impulsive bursts that burn themselves out.

Saturn meets Neptune

Shortly after Saturn enters Aries, it meets dreamy Neptune, forming what we call a conjunction in astrology. This is a rare turning point that can set the tone of change for many years to come. This is about spirituality, structure, ideals, and reality fusing with illusion.
The Berlin Wall fell the last time Saturn and Neptune met in 1989. Then, this energy was expressed in Capricorn, the sign of the builder, or in this case, the dismantler. It was set against a backdrop of the collapse of rigid political structures, and a collective awakening that understood the movement of what was previously considered immovable could happen. And it fell away overnight.
That is the power of these two planets, and being in Aries, there’s a greater sense of urgency.
Get ready for them to do their stuff again, and, just like I’ve been saying in my video messages, prepare for new beginnings, radical ones, and illusions dissolving, clearing the ground for new hope and greater transparency.
Aries, being about the self, unlike Capricorn and the status quo, this one’s about inner power and not aligning with anything that doesn’t resonate truly with you.

Values mean the world

Dreaming without doing doesn’t sit well under a Saturn-Neptune union. There must be heart and soul to plans, and any sense of sacrifice or martyrdom is soon shown the door.
Globally, this could mean that where humanity was compromised or sacrificed for the sense of order, there could be some changes. I’m talking movements led by individuals, not institutions, and a renewed focus on autonomy, and an appetite for leadership that reflects lived reality. Not figureheads who are totally out of touch.
Aries is not a passive sign, so there will be plenty of sleeves being rolled up here.

What does Saturn in Aries mean for my star sign?

I’ve grouped the signs together by what we call qualities, to break down what it means …
With a lot of cardinal energy (Aries, Cancer, Libra, Capricorn), this could feel activating and unavoidable. You’re being nudged into leadership roles, new beginnings, or decisions you can’t put off any longer. Start where you are.
Those with strong mutable placements (Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius, Pisces) might be looking at consolidation. After years of adapting, adjusting, and absorbing change, Saturn in Aries asks you to commit. Less flexibility, more intention.
For fixed sign clusters (Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, Aquarius), this transit can feel like an upheaval – but ultimately liberating. What once felt stable may no longer. The invitation here is to let go of stubborn attachment and rediscover your passion.

Let’s build

Saturn in Aries isn’t asking you to become someone else, but take yourself seriously.
This is a time for starting things that matter, no matter the imperfections. Aries just gets on with it, so it’s time to back yourself and reframe success as integrity rather than approval seeking. Ask yourself who and what are worth showing up for.
Saturn and Neptune reward effort, not performative fluff. Practicality can live beside your dream and protect it. Slow and steady wins the race is always the message with Saturn.
This isn’t the end of the world. It’s the end of waiting.
