Hello all. Welcome to my August blog. I want to talk about something big that’s headed our way.
On 15 September 2026, the love planet, Venus, at 3° Scorpio squares fateful Pluto at 3° Aquarius. Scorpio stands for passion, lust, love, envy, drama. Aquarius, on the other hand, is about intellectualising emotion, detachment, brilliance, the needs of the many, ideas, and, at times, indifference and aloofness.
It’s what we call an exact aspect, and it’s not exactly subtle, so go grab your popcorn and let’s dive in. Aspects in astrology, particularly in fixed signs like Scorpio and Aquarius, deserve big build-ups and leave a lasting legacy.
Venus in astrology represents all that we attach value to – like love, attraction, pleasure, money, and our self-worth too. Pluto is a different beast. It deals with power, control, obsession, transformation and things decaying so that something new arrives.
Pluto’s influence makes for uncomfortable viewing, but it’s often necessary for us to evolve.
Put them together in a square, and we’re talking a huge emotional digger at work, and passions closer to the surface.
Relationship issues may become too big to ignore, or it could be that financial decisions are brought to a head. Or are you asking yourself why you want something so badly? Desire is something we may all be visited by during this transit.
Love and lust
Venus in the sign of Scorpio couldn’t care less about the superficial. It needs soul-to-soul communion and demands intimacy, depth, and the surrendering to the passion of both parties.
All very well, but who’s going to get on with the hoovering?
Yes, practical matters can’t be ignored. We all must get on with our lives at the same time. But you might turn up the need to merge with another person by asking more questions, or finding a new angle on them.
Please just watch for jealousy, suspicion, and power plays, and all that other Scorpionic stuff I often talk about in my personal video horoscopes.
Pluto will always intensify anything it comes near, and as you’ve doubtless heard me discuss in my Facebook and TikTok messages, this energy filtered through Aquarius, in a wider context, means transformations in society, fairness and freedom for all, and humanitarian causes, etc.
Venus and Pluto clashing might throw up a tension between intimacy and freedom, that you could see played out in your relationships.
Do you need more space or more attention? Perhaps both?
Trust is thrust under the microscope now, and we must all watch for the worm of suspicion tunnelling down and causing a lot of issues when we look away from logic.
Obsession
Pluto square Venus is also about magnetism between two people, and seduction and the forbidden. If you’ve just met someone, you might be thinking about them a lot during this time, despite the cooler, more aloof Aquarian elements reminding you that obsession is not the same as love.
It’s also easy to mistake anxiety for chemistry when these two planets get together, or we try to be a fixer, or think we know someone better than they know themselves, or what’s best for them.
The harder someone is to reach, the more value we may attach to them. My advice? Check out whether this is one big waste of time.
Relationship dynamics
These planets are on a mission to expose unequal dynamics in your relationships – everything from who makes all the decisions, who controls the money, who regulates the emotional temperature, and whose moods rule the roost.
Then we come to who always makes the first move to apologise, and who sends the other to Coventry when they don’t get their own way.
I warned you that it made for uncomfortable viewing, didn’t I?
If you’re the one doing all the legwork and the chasing while your partner is always withdrawing and not really contributing much, then maybe this is when you could even things out a bit?
Continually editing yourself to keep someone else happy rather than being alone is perhaps more universal than we all like to think it is.
Money, money, money
Money, possessions and the value of things are another province of Venus, and Pluto to a certain extent, so I’ve got to give you more on how this affects you.
I think it’s going to be expressed in security issues, and not clinging on because of what you’ve always done. Pluto transforms, and in Aquarius, it’s revolutionary, and can be a sudden change of heart, tack, or direction.
Spending more money than you’ve got can be a self-soother, as can making every penny a prisoner because you’re fearful about what the future might hold.
Do you measure your worth by your material wealth?
Perhaps it’s time to look a bit deeper at all of this and try to strike a happier medium rather than extremes.
Ask yourself…
Which of this makes you most uncomfortable? And what are you most afraid of, or of losing?
I don’t mean this to be a downer of a blog. It’s more about you waking up to what curtails you from evolving because you’re held back by fears and perhaps a lack of self-worth too.
Look underneath how you feel. Pause before reacting. Keep your own counsel. Allow things to change rather than cling to old ways because you imagine that is all you know or all you are worth.
