How you doing?
I have to talk about Pluto direct in Aquarius.
History is in the making with this one, you see, because, on October 13th 2025, Pluto went direct in Aquarius for the first time in all our lifetimes. The last time it happened was roughly 200 years ago, and the history books tell us that the late 1700s was a time of upheaval, emancipation, new political awakenings, and revolution.
What does Pluto direct in Aquarius mean in 2025?
What this might mean for us here in 2025, in a nutshell, is greater political mobilisation and climate action, and reforms in governance, as awakenings on individual levels, and old worn out systems collapsing. Look around – we’re already witnessing it.
We’re entering an astrological season where the collective may awaken to new ways. Old edifices are already trembling, with new ones yet to be built, and I feel that it’s the people who are going to be among the chief architects now.
Time to lean in and watch happens to the systems around you, the networks, the structures, and what happens to the ones that are not living up to what they say they are, as this is about removing all the rotten bits of the apple.
See where your own boundaries lie too. Perhaps also a bit about going it alone and not being afraid to be the wolf at times, by standing up for that in which you believe.
Because this is only just beginning of what we call in astrology a long transit, and many of the changes will be gradual, emerging over years and years. But know this: things are being ignited al around us, and this a potent psychic time for me too, of course.
What might this Pluto direct in Aquarius mean for us today?
Here’s my take…
Pluto’s backstory
First a bit of context here.
Pluto is a slow moving planet, and will spend 19 years in Aquarius. It first went into the sign of the water bearer in November 2024 but has been retrograde in Capricorn lately. When it was in this earthy sign, this planet of transformation took structure, institutions, authority and hierarchy down, while in it sights while in Aquarius, we have the collective, innovation, social structures and ideas and, of course, technology.
It’s these cracks in the old system, a legacy of Pluto in Capricorn, that set the scene for the collective awakening that is already happening all around the world.
Just look at how many tensions the world holds right now, and we can see Aquarian themes emerging quite clearly, like a conflict between individual liberation and communal responsibility.
This was all turned inward when Pluto was retrograde, but not this will all be unleashed into the world and the collective consciousness, and this is slowly turning into action. Our world could change so dramatically in the next 19 years.
The themes of Pluto direct in Aquarius
Reflection to action
Power might have been misused in the past, but this was all quite shadowy. But now, Aquarius wants to pour light on it, and redesign and purge and head to this new order, as old ones dissolve.
Power from the grassroots up
Aquarius is the sign of the people and egalitarianism. As I’ve been telling you in my Personal Horoscope Videos and on social media, as Pluto gains forward momentum in Aquarius, we could see the centre of power shift from top-down to bottom-up, and intensified activism plus maybe even a new kind of democracy, or new social structures that challenge old authority.
Technological revolution
Aquarius rules technology and breakthroughs, data systems and the blueprints of society and that which binds us all together. Pluto will soon be pressing for deep reform and reshuffles when it comes to infrastructures – and we’re talking energy grids, AI, communications, social media and governments too.
Then there’s that other Pluto in Aquarius province, space travel. Expect more news about comets and other objects in our solar system.
Things might get uncomfortable
Pluto doesn’t usually take the softly-softly or sugar-coating approach. Its transformations are often swift, with power struggles, all kinds of other reckonings, eruptions of tensions that have been suppressed far too long all coming out in the wash. What is downright dirty must be exposed, and that’s the job it takes most pride in.
What remains is authentic and bursting with integrity – two more Aquarian traits. This is also about democratising technology so that these energies feel like they’re benefitting us all.
New communities and new identities
This is also about you asking what you need for yourself and how you connect to such intentions.
Please also watch out for hidden power dynamics within groups, friendships, family, work. All of the above may be affected, as these energies surface from the deep. It might be that ties are severed to groups that no longer serve or disempower you. Aquarius is big on values so they must align with yours or it’s goodnight Vienna.
Such a metamorphosis in social groups could lead to new allegiances forming rather than isolation.
A call to collective courage
I’ve spoken about astrological ‘calls to arms’ before, especially involving Uranus, but as the ruler of Aquarius, this applies here too.
Inner integrity matters here, and you doing your shadow work, facing what you hide and walking in your truth. You might wish to build a community of like minded people around you now, as your individual intention matters as does the collective one of your tribe.
Stay awake to power dynamics and watch out for anybody disrespecting you or your boundaries.
