Seeing as it’s Christmas, a time when family members can drive us up the wall and some relationships can, unfortunately, go to the wall, I thought that I’d have a bit of fun with a blog about the most and least tolerant star signs. This is very much tongue-in-cheek because there’s a lot more to you than your star sign, it’s just the tip of the iceberg in your birth chart.

The most and least tolerant star signs
Tolerance is a concept some star signs are more familiar with than others that perhaps tend to snap more quickly under pressure rather than bend when turbulence hits. Here’s my take on sun-sign astrology…
Libra – the relationship sign
You’re just so tolerant and lovely Libra – I could gobble you up! Yes, all you weigh-a-uppers out there’ll do anything rather than be alone or rock the boat because, and even though you can be confrontational when you are backed into a corner and demonstrate behaviour more associated with your opposite sign, Aries, you ideally like to make your relationship a fight-free zone. When you’re mad, you dust.
Cancer in relationships – the soft touch?
Next on my Christmas hit list, and just missing out on the top spot is you, gooey, accepting, cuddly Cancer. You’re a soft-hearted person once you’ve given yours away and really will put up with a lot in the name of love and being loved. But, again, when you do reach your limit, out come those pincers, especially in the kitchen if anybody dares to criticise or start trying to take over. Of all the signs, it’s you who knows the secret to a good roux.
Pisces in relationships – the pacifier?
Then we come to another water sign, and you know who you are, Pisces. Or do you? You wear more hats than Abraham Lincoln yet you’re perfectly aware of this and this and of the needs of others at the same time. You’re a firm believer in love conquering all, which is why you’re always extra-tolerant even when your little love boat hits choppy waters.
Capricorn in relationships – the tough cookie?
Here’s looking at you Capricorn, and your ability, like your namesake the mountain goat, to tough out hostile environments, including when the going getting tough in relationships. Your tendency to think strategically and always with an eye on the long term greatly helps you maintain your tolerance levels and places you quite high on my list. You can be tough at work but a big softie at home.
Tolerant Taurus?
Taurus is the first of the earth signs, so you have been blessed with the most patience, some might say. You have eyes for only one when you’re in love, so tend to idolise your partner and head down the path of least resistance. But very occasionally you can blow, like a volcano, especially if you feel as if you are not your partner’s number one priority.
Scorpio – still waters run deep
Next up, Scorpio. You’re known for your stillness even in a hurricane and not reacting in a knee-jerk way, and this comes from a place of tolerance, plus you’re built from sterner stuff than skedaddling at the first whiff of hard times. In fact, it’s through tolerance and sticking with someone through thick and thin that you truly transform, and your partner into the bargain.
Gemini and Virgo: mind your manners
All you Geminis and Virgos out there tie in next place on my list of most and least tolerant star signs and there’s one good reason why: you’re both ruled by clever, polite Mercury. This wee planet blesses you with a logical mind that boosts your tolerance and understanding of people because you can let your head rule your heart, paving the way for deep friendship and a meeting of the minds. To the two of you, it’s the mental connection that holds all relationships together.
Sagittarius – the hills are alive
Now we’re getting into the least tolerant zone, starting with you, Sagittarius. Like all you dual (mutable) signs, you’re a huge contradiction and while you’re intellectually tolerant and open-minded when it comes to relationships, you archers have been known to get going when the going gets tough. Or get preachy on your road to enlightenment. Cantering out the door and heading to the hills with your one-person tent always seems preferable to talking things over.
Leo and Aquarius: loyalty and royalty
Two more opposite signs now, regal Leo and Aquarius. You loyal Leos are constant in so many areas of your life, but you can have a shorter fuse with tolerance and tend to take it personally when your other half doesn’t feel exactly what you’re feeling, or mirror you in other ways, but you’re a very loving sign if loyalty isn’t dismantled even a smidgen. Whereas with you, Aquarius, intolerance of other people’s wobbles or insecurities might be an issue. Or you give off the impression that people should pull themselves together, think on, and look sharp. And yet you’re the best friend anybody could have in the world and tend to show your love in practical ways, albeit always at a distance. Or from behind glass.
And then we have the first sign, last…
Now for the least tolerant sign of all and the first sign of the zodiac, and yes it’s you, Aries. You know I love you, but it’s just that you get a bit impatient and stamp your feet when things don’t go your way. Kind and generous to a fault at the same time, these are just two of a long list of other very good reasons why your edgier side doesn’t eclipse the very many attractive qualities you possess.
